Property Award Category Descriptions 

• Property Management Company of the Year: This prestigious award is presented to a property management company that excels in fostering an exceptional work environment and community presence. The recipient company distinguishes itself through outstanding employee retention and incentive programs, including comprehensive benefit packages and educational opportunities. Additionally, the company is recognized for its successful resident retention strategies and strong commitment to resident relations. Their active involvement with the CKAA and dedication to community outreach initiatives further demonstrate their leadership and impact in the industry. This award celebrates a company that not only enhances the living and working environments within their properties but also contributes positively to the broader community in the industry.
•  Community Improvement Award: Presented to a property that has demonstrated significant enhancement through recent upgrades, community improvements, or the addition of new amenities. Eligible projects must have been completed within the past 12 months from the day of nomination and contribute to the overall betterment and appeal of the community. 
•  Regional Property Supervisor of the Year Award: Presented to a regional property supervisor who oversees multiple properties managed by individual managers. This award honors a leader who has demonstrated exceptional achievement and excellence in management, associate support, showcasing outstanding oversight, guidance, and success across their portfolio of properties. 
•  Multi-Site Property Manager of the Year: Presented to a multi-site property manager who oversees and manages multiple properties. This award recognizes a manager who has demonstrated exceptional achievements and accomplishments over the past year, showcasing excellence in leadership, operational success, and a commitment to the growth and well-being of their associates and their properties. 
•  Apartment Community Overall Team of the Year Award: Presented to an outstanding property team whose members consistently work together to foster a supportive and motivating workplace. This award recognizes the collective effort of all staff members in creating a positive environment, promoting teamwork, and delivering exceptional service to the community. 
•  Property Manager of the Year Award: This award is presented to an on-site property manager who has demonstrated exceptional achievements and leadership. The recipient will have shown outstanding dedication to enhancing resident satisfaction, optimizing property operations, and driving overall success in their managed property. This individual exemplifies excellence in property management through innovative problem-solving, effective communication, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service and efficiency. Their contributions have significantly impacted the value and reputation of the property and it's associates under their care. 
•  Assistant Manager of the Year Award: This award is presented to an assistant manager who has demonstrated knowledge and performance, significantly contributing to increased resident retention and occupancy levels. The recipient will have shown a strong commitment to fostering positive resident relations, ensuring timely rent collection, and maintaining a welcoming and well-managed property. Their proactive approach, dedication to excellence, and ability to support both residents and the management team have made a substantial impact on the success of the property. 
•  Leasing Consultant of the Year Award: This award is presented to a leasing consultant who has demonstrated exceptional knowledge and outstanding performance, leading to high leasing rates, increased resident retention, and optimal occupancy levels. •  Maintenance Supervisor of the Year Award: This award is presented to a maintenance supervisor who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and consistent excellence in fulfilling their responsibilities. The recipient has played a crucial role in enhancing resident retention and occupancy levels through their proactive approach to property maintenance and their commitment to resident satisfaction. •  Maintenance Technician of the Year Award:  This award is presented to a maintenance technician who has demonstrated exceptional technical expertise and consistently high performance in their responsibilities. The recipient’s dedication to maintaining the property has directly contributed to increased resident retention and occupancy levels. •  Facilities Support Associate of the Year Award: This award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding dedication and versatility in maintaining their apartment community. The Facilities Support Associate of the Year may excel in a variety of  roles, such as housekeeping, groundskeeping, painting, pool attendee, etc. ensuring a clean, safe, and attractive environment for residents and teams. Their strong work ethic, attention to detail, and positive attitude make them an invaluable member of the team.
• Individual Property Member Rookie of the Year Award: This award is presented to an individual at any level within the multifamily industry who has excelled in their current position for less than one year at the time of nomination. It recognizes a "rookie" in their role, or a newcomer to the industry, who has quickly demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and impact in their position. The recipient has shown the ability to adapt and thrive, making significant contributions to their team and property, and setting a high standard for future success in the multifamily industry.  
• Individual Property Member Distinguished Service to CKAA Award: This prestigious award in honor of the late, Dottie Stinnett, is presented to a property member who has demonstrated extraordinary volunteer efforts in support of CKAA’s activities and events. The recipient is recognized for their exceptional dedication and contribution towards enhancing the organization's mission and community presence. Their commitment and involvement have significantly impacted various phases of CKAA initiatives, setting a remarkable example of service and leadership within the association.  

Industry Partner Award Category Descriptions

• Individual Industry Partner Rookie of the Year Award: This award is presented to an individual member who has made a significant impact within the multifamily housing industry, despite having been in their current position for less than one year at the time of nomination. Nominees for this award may be new to their role but not necessarily new to the industry. The recipient will have demonstrated promise, dedication, and a proactive approach in their new position, quickly becoming a valued contributor to their organization and the broader industry. This award recognizes those who have shown potential and have already begun to make a meaningful difference in their role.  
• Individual Industry Partner Dottie Stinnett Distinguished Service to CKAA Award: This prestigious award is presented to an individual industry partner who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to the CKAA over the past year.
